Influences

I've been influenced by many people.

Dennis is not in a vaccum.

Personally, I've always wanted to be like John Wesley.

He preaches on the streets, and makes evangelism his greatest mission.

"The world is my parish," he says, as he preaches to the world, not just in church.

One day, I hope to preach on the streets, and love people in the world.

I went to Union Rescue mission in Los Angeles, California.

It is where Skid Row is located I believe.

It is where a lot of poor drug addicts who live on the streets live.

I went there as a young Christian, hoping to serve in some way.

I remember, my church also went there serving pizza.

I remember wondering, is this actually helping the problem? Do they need pizza?

Are you even loving them by giving them pizza? Don't you guys know what the real problem is!?

But looking back, giving pizza was a gesture of gentle and simple love.

It doesn't have to be big everyone - just a small gesture of kindness is all it takes.

Everyday, with love in our hearts, we can win the battle everyday.

Union Rescue Mission has a bigger fund, so they can train them to get jobs.

They rehabiliate them and even give them a place to stay.

I was given a tour there.

A little history of my life

So why did I visit Union Rescue Mission?

It's because I was healed of my illness (schizophrenia) by going to Bible study and attending church at Westlake Korean Community Church, California.

It was a great church, but it did break up in the end.

I don't consider break ups the end, because if there was love, that love will last to the end - until forever.

But one reason I left before the break-up was because I wanted to go to Grace Community Church in Los Angeles, because a famous pastor, John MacArthur was pastoring and preaching there.

I wanted to learn from the best.

At Grace I learned about Puritans.

But back at WKCC, I had a Bible study leader, Sam Kang, who was a medical doctor from University of Chicago's Medical School.

He must have taught me a lot of good knowledge so that I can recover in my mind.

See, before this, I was diagnosed with schizophrenia.

I woke up in the hospital with great fear, not knowing what just happened to me.

And they told me if I don't take this medicine, I will be strapped down and injected it.

This was in the UCLA medical school for neuropsychiatrics Semel (I believe).

There was a Doctor G. and a assistant medical school student Mayumi Pierce from Berkeley.

You see just before this I had a eureka and eye opening and mind opening moment.

I was very depressed and sad.

I didn't see the happiness in life, and I felt my mind was very down and casted with blindness.

But my mind opened all of a sudden, and I took a picture of a flower, and I posted it on Facebook.

I had all of a sudden a kind of mania.

Then I ran to the hospital with my skateboard and I was admitted and then I woke up and I had to get forced to take the medicine.

So why did I have depression?

I had a tough life.

Remember my Bio page, I asked for hardship.

I was down in the dumps.

I was just very sad, that's all.

I went to my first year at UCLA, but I didn't succeed, I had to drop out.

My parents, and my dad especially, said it was too much.

I was suicidal.

But I loved school and wanted to graduate and get a job and succeed - making money and succeeding was my only goal in life!

It was the reason I lived!

But I was taken out in 2012, and I went to Korea on a Summer Trip to visit my family.

When I came back, my mind opened up.
